Eversholt Cricket Club enjoys one of the game’s most
beautiful settings and on Thursday 3rd August they will once again
host a Lashings World XI team packed with International stars such as England’s
Devon Malcolm, India’s Wasim Jaffer and
the great Gordon Greenidge from the all-conquering West Indies.
This will be Lashings sixth visit to Eversholt and it looks like being an even bigger and better event than the wonderful previous matches that were enjoyed by around 2,000 spectators from children to pensioners. It really is a fantastic opportunity to see some of the game’s greatest players up close in action against the local side with live commentary relaying the action as you enjoy a picnic or take advantage of the catering and bar facilities that will be available on the day.
The Club takes great pride in its place within the local community and funds raised on the day will go towards the upkeep of the Ground and our continued commitment to provide coaching and encouragement to all abilities from age 6 years and above. When Lashings last visited, the Club donated £1,500 of the money raised to Prostate Cancer UK and this year the chosen charity will be the Bedfordshire Disability Cricket Programme.
Entry is by purchase of a Match Programme for just £5 per head at the gate with ample free parking available close to the ground. There will be a Youth Coaching session in the morning supported by Lashings players followed by a Disability Cricket Exhibition Match between teams from Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire from 12.00 pm and the main event will be a “Twenty20” match starting at about 4.00 pm.
